A Mozart Celebration
2006 is the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth.
In celebration of one of the greatest composers, Run For Your Life! will present an all-Mozart concert The time and place is to be announced. The repertoire will include:
Les Petits Riens
Some Wonderful Things
- Comic scenes from The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute performed choreographically. These will include
- A Wonderful Thing
- A duet on crutches for Papageno and Papagena, choreographed for the 1991 San Francisco Mozart Festival.
Mozart Permutations
- An abstract dance set to music of the same name by Dudley Brooks, in which two Mozart piano sonatas are played simultaneously, and
otherwise transformed, while the same thing happens to the two dances choreographed to those sonatas.
We’re All a Little Mad Here
- The mad tea party from Alice in Wonderland, set to Mozart’s Variations on Ah, vous dirai-je, maman. Expanded from the version created for Moving Arts Dance’s A MAD Hatter Performance and Tea Party in December 2005.
